When XXX river starts as small trickling streams from Moonlight Peak, it joins up and gets bigger as it goes down the mountain. Eventually it flows down the foot of the mountain and into the place known as Harvest Valley. At the top of this Valley, the river is a dangerous flowing rapid. The rocks are extremely sharp and large, sticking out of the rapids like thorns. It’s a foolish place to cross and an easy place to die or become seriously injured. This deadly part of the river can not last long though. As the river goes farther down the Valley, the rapids vanish and the river becomes much calmer and gentle (though the current is still reasonably strong, so strong swimming is required if an animal does not want to get washed down by it). For those who can’t, dislike, or aren’t good swimmers, there are a few fords dotted around the more southern shallow areas of the river letting such animals cross different sides of the valley.
The Valley itself is a verdant one! There a fair amount of deciduous trees dotted around for tree-using animals and birds. Some of these trees have rabbit (or fox) holes that smaller animals can use. The Valley floor has rich soil which easily accommodates grass and small wild flowers popping up, with insects scuttling within it. The very sides of the valley themselves have not escaped this, with small plants poking out while many a hole in the sides make perfect nesting spots. Any birds that come here for its rich choices of food will not be alone and competition will arise. The river itself provides a great fishing spot with a variety of fish to catch.
There are larger prey animals here (a deal great deal of them deer), but the amount is quite limited. To get down to the valley one must go down one of the spots on the sides where an animal can safely climb down. It slopes down steeply and is like a mix between a flight of stairs and a ramp. A pack or a herd must take it steady here so as not to fall. Since most herds usually only come here when food is getting low or when trying to keep away from predators. Any pack or lone predator that takes a large number of prey animals from a herd will drive them away or keep other herds from entering. Due to this, a large pack can’t be maintained here. Even if it could, it is a small terra for a wolf but perfect for a lone predator.
There are not many legends or stories about this place. There are some stories of gods visiting here for a break though. Some animals have claimed to have seen them, but this could be totally fake.
