Between Twilight Ridge and two minor mountains stands Twilight Ruins. The ruin, like its cousins, is a large, rough pillar of dark and light gray rock. Also like its cousin, the ruin was once quite tall (though did not feel as such due to the nearby mountains), but now is a shadow of its former self. It is cracking up and slowly crumbling with a large array of debris around it, covering the ground and sticking out all over place making it uneven like the main ruins. The rock has a lot of dried bloodstains around its base. This always seems to be the case for it.
The main rumor about this site is that it’s an alter for Dis cultists to make sacrifices to the said god of death. It is said that the cultists ambush herds and lone animals to drag off for sacrifice. They usually only injure the animal so it’s unable to get away. This is a risky business as the animal could injure or kill a cultist. If the animal dies then the cultist that did the injuries will be sacrificed (voluntary or not) to make up. When the ceremony is ready, the victims are ripped apart alive and the side with the most blood coming out is put against the Pillar so the soul can be trapped within it. Many fear this, but the blood could also be from something else such as a hunted prey animal or dying predator.
There are some more positive legends and rumors to say about this ruin, though. Some say it’s a rock for Dis to curl round to get comfortable. There, it is said that he did a variety of things such as talk to mortals or watch a hunt, though few have claimed this and even fewer have actually seen it.
