Name: Freyja
Gender: Female
Age: 8 1/2 years
Species: Wolf
Physical Description: Old age has taken its toll on Freyja's body. Her once gleaming white coat is now reduced to a gray, matted mess. Her body is bony, with several noticeable bones sticking out in awkward positions. Her tail is light and feathery, and her paws are slightly larger than those of a normal wolf her age. A once black but now dark grey patch is on her left ear, and a small red scar stands out on her muzzle. In contrast with her dull coat, Frey's eyes are a dark gold tinged with a slight green, although her vision is now a bit foggy. She walkes with a slow gait, occasionally limping her front paw.
History: Freyja was born in human territory, after her mother was banished for having pups (something that is reserved for alpha wolves only). After spending many sleepless nights in the wilderness, the pregnant female winded up in human territory. She was startled and afraid. Her pups would be coming soon, and it was too late to turn back. Too tired to to move anymore, she found refuge in the humans' tool shed. In the morning she was found by a kind old man who, though startled at finding a wild wolf in his shed, had no fear of her and wanted to help. Freyja's mother was brought fresh food and water everyday until the time of her pups' birth. The man decided not to intervene during the time she was nursing her pups, although he kept a close watch on her.
Shortly after giving birth, Frey's mother contracted a deadly disease which eventually lead to her death. Her three pups were cared for by the kind old man until they were fully grown and ready to head out on their own. None of them were ready to leave, however, except for one. Freyja, the youngest one of the litter, was an adventurous pup who wanted to live life in the wild. She eventually headed out one night, never stopping to say goodbye. Thus she began her new life, and lived on her own for a year. She belonged to many wolf packs, always moving from one pack to the other and never staying in one for very long. Eventually she had a litter of pups of her own.
By the time her pups were ready to leave her, Freyja was becoming weak from old age. She could barely stand up without assistance, and couldn't even take down large prey anymore. Her oldest daughter, Lydia, saw this and decided to stay with Frey while her siblings went off to start their lives. The mother and daughter now travel everywhere together, protecting and watching out for one another.
Personality: Frey is an undemanding wolf, though her old age often gets the best of her. Occasionally she'll forget where she is or what she is supposed to be doing. She also feels the need to be independent, and will often brush off others to be by herself. Despite this, she is a caring soul, and seems to want what's best for everyone she meets. She is often stubborn, and even picky about what she eats. At times she forgets how old she really is and attempts to do things that most wolves wouldn't find very safe for someone her age. Freyja also believes herself to be a friend to humans, much to the dismay of her daughter, who fears it will one day get her into trouble and possibly even cost Frey her life.
