Moonlight Peak (or Eagle Peak depending on who you talk to) is at the very north of the land. Despite its name the mountain is very treacherous. Though its slopes start gentle, they get steeper and steeper until you reach the top. Landslides and falling rocks aren’t uncommon on this mountain and can easily finish a traveler. One misplaced paw or hoof could send an animal falling to its death as the rock isn’t always stable, or the path upwards got too thin. On rainy days the mountain tends to mist up. Sometimes it’s so bad that it just can’t be climbed. Finally, to top it all off, the peak gets extremely icy and snowy during winter (but can stay in other seasons too) making survival ten times as hard. If any animal has the luck and skill to reach the top of the peak, though, then the view will reward him or her in full! On a clear day the view is breathtaking. All the land around can be seen! When the moon shines in full here, it lights up an animal’s heart.
Though the mountain is dangerous, it can support a pack. Dall sheep are on the lower levels of the mountain and can be hunted with enough skill. XXX river starts from this great mountain in little trickles and streams until eventually it grows large while going through into Harvest Valley and right through the land. At the foot of the mountain is a rocky but grassy land with small forests that can support a wolf pack or a small herd. Going South West would lead an animal to Deepwater Lakes while going South East takes an animal to Twilight Ridge and the minor mountains.
It is believed by wolves that the gate to the afterlife is at the peak of the Mountain, and any wolf who dies here is buried right at the foot of the mountain where they will join with other dead wolves to howl on the night of the full moon. Some say they can hear their ghostly yet beautiful howls. Others say this is all just make believe…
